This year’s conference expedition is coming up soon, on September 22-24. It is being held on the church property adjacent to Thirlmere Lakes National Park, near Picton, and the feature activity will be rogaining. Pathfinders are divided into groups and given a map which shows a number checkpoints which have been set up in surrounding area. Each checkpoint is worth a specified number of points. Each group plans their own route to suit their capabilities and to maximise their points, then sets off to navigate and hike the route. This is a Conference event, which gives us the opportunity to meet up with other clubs from the Sydney region.

There will be plenty of hiking involved, so all your gear must be in a backpack and you must be able to carry it all yourself. Make sure you look at our hiking checklist. The club will divide you into groups, and supply you as normal with a tent between 2 or 3 pathfinders. We will have water at the trailer to top up before heading out rogaining on Sabbath afternoon.

We plan to leave the church at 4pm on Friday. Our estimated time of return on Sunday will be emailed and posted to Facebook as soon as we leave the campsite, but will hopefully be around 4pm.

Applications for the expedition go the conference. The application fee is $35 per person if you register by September 4, or $60 if you register after that and before the deadline of September 11. The registration process is similar to the one we use for our club camps. If you wish to attend as a parent helper, please check with Megan prior to registering.

Please register soon and come enjoy the weekend with us! This event counts towards your attendance for the year. Any questions, please contact Megan.

Applications for this camp have now closed.
